Looking to spice up your morning breakfast? Try these apple cinnamon overnight oats! Overnight oats are super easy to make at night and ready to pull out of the fridge in the morning for breakfast! I always make my overnight oats in mason jars as they are easy to store and easy to take on the go! Overnight oats are simple to make and there are so many different combinations you can make! These are one of my favourites especially in the fall with fresh and local apples. Overnight oats make for a high protein and filling breakfast. If you make sure you are buying good quality gluten free oats, this is a perfect gluten free breakfast option! High protein breakfast is a great way to fuel you for the day and keep you full and satisfied until lunch!
Why Overnight Oats?
Overnight oats are quick and simple and require no cooking!
They are easy to store in the fridge for 3-4 days
There are so many different combinations to make (chocolate, peanut butter, apple cinnamon, pumpkin)
You can make them in mason jars and eat them right from the jar!
They are high in protein and make for a filling breakfast to fuel you for the day
Oats are a great source of fibre
Apple Spice Overnight Oats - Recipe
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Yields: 1 jar
Ingredients
1 cup steel cut oats
1 small apple, diced
1/4 cup seedless raisins
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup chia seeds
1 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 tsp pure maple syrup
Toppings (optional)
1/3 cup Greek yogurt
1/2 tsp large flake oats
Pinch of cinnamon
1/4 cup apple, diced
1 tbsp raisins
Directions
1. In a medium sized mason jar, add steel cut oats, diced apple, raisins, cinnamon and chia seeds. Stir well.
2. Add in almond milk and maple syrup and mix well.
3. If jar is not full, top with almond milk and stir carefully.
4. Place lid on jar and place in fridge overnight.
5. Enjoy from the jar or scoop into small bowl.
6. Optional - top with Greek yogurt, apples, cinnamon, raisins and large flake oats.
To store, place lid back on jar and place in the fridge. Keep in fridge for 4-5 days.
