Apple Pie Baked Oats

What better way to start off your day on these cool fall mornings than with these warm apple pie baked oats? These baked oats are dairy free and refined sugar free but are naturally sweet from the apples and cinnamon! Satisfy your sweet tooth without all the added refined sugars! Start your morning off right with all comforting, warm and delicious fall flavours! I promise you will fall in love with fall after eating these apple pie oats!


If you are allergic to nuts or are just not a fan, feel free to leave out the nuts to make this recipe nut free! You can also substitute the egg out for a flax egg to make this recipe vegan! This recipe is super easy to make! You just need a few simple ingredients, a small bowl and casserole dish! Set your timer for 20 minutes and have a shower or continue getting ready for your day while your oats bake in the oven!



Once you pull out these warm, yummy oats from the oven, drizzle with maple syrup and enjoy! These oats are delicious served warm but are also great kept in the fridge and eaten cold! You can make these oats the night before and eat them cold or reheat them in the microwave or oven to enjoy the next day! I always make a larger batch so that I can have enough oats for a couple of days!



Apple Pie Baked Oats


Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes


Dairy Free | Refined Sugar Free

Ingredients

1 + 1/3 cup large flake oats

1 tsp baking powder

Pinch of salt

1 + 1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 cup + 1 tbsp unsweetened almond milk

1 tbsp pure maple syrup

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup slivered almonds

1 apple

1 tbsp maple syrup


Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degree.

  2. In small bowl, mix together oats, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.

  3. Add in almond milk, maple syrup, egg and vanilla. Mix well.

  4. Add 1/4 cup slivered almonds to mixture.

  5. Dice apple into small cubes and add 3/4 of the apple to the mixture. Mix well.

  6. Place mixture into a small casserole dish and sprinkle with 1/4 cup slivered almonds and remaining apple.

  7. Place in oven and bake for 20 minutes. Test by sticking toothpick into centre of the oats. Toothpick will come out clean once fully cooked.

  8. Drizzle with maple syrup. Serve and enjoy!
